Our Doors Open Day
On the weekend of Sat 10th and Sun 11th September, No.7 opened its doors to the general public for the first time in order participate in the South Lanarkshire Councils Doors Open Day event. Doors Open Days allow free access to hundreds of fascinating buildings across Scotland so that you can explore places that are normally closed to the public.
During the weekend members of No.7 were on hand to assist and guide over 130 visitors throughout the building. Within the harmony room many of our minute books, including our 1st official minute book dating back to 1695 were on display; as well as several of our Past Masters photo albums. Display boards containing information regarding the extensive works of the buildings architect Alexander Cullen and information relating to our long standing Masonic history was on show.
As this was No.7's first doors open day event we are delighted not only by the number of visitors who had taken the time to come, but also by the positive direct feedback. Given the level of encouraging feedback we have received we are planning to make this an annual occurrence and look forward to even more visitors next year.
